Missouri Rep. Elaine Gannon to Address 4th Friday
State Rep. Elaine Gannon, R-115th District, will address the crowd on Feb. 28 at Mineral Area College’s Fourth Friday.
The public is invited to attend Gannon’s Fourth Friday presentation, 10 a.m., Feb. 28, in the Fine Arts Theatre at MAC’s Park Hills campus. A Q&A session will follow. Gannon, a Republican, represents parts of Jefferson, St. Francois, and Ste. Genevieve counties (District 115). She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2012.
In addition to her legislative duties, Gannon spent 32 years teaching junior high physical education and coaching in the De Soto Public Schools. From 1978-2000, Gannon taught swimming lessons during the summer months for the De Soto parks program. She was the director of the parks program from 1989-2000. Currently, she is the chairman of the Get Healthy De Soto Christmas Home Tour, a member of the NRA, and attends First Baptist Church in De Soto.
Gannon graduated from Bismarck High School in 1971 and earned an associate degree from Jefferson College in 1973. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1975 from Southeast Missouri State University. In 1994, Gannon earned a master’s degree in education from Southwest Missouri Baptist University.
Born Feb. 2, 1953, in Bonne Terre, Gannon was raised in Bismarck. She lives in De Soto with her husband, Dennis. They have two sons, Andrew and Jason.
