Sansagraw Joins Mineral Area College Faculty
Bill Sansagraw of Festus has joined Mineral Area College as an industrial maintenance instructor.
He teaches in the MoHealthWINs program, health care facility maintenance technology. The eight-week class began April 29.
The Maintenance Technician in a health care setting is a certificate and stackable credential program that offers training to both degree-seeking students (Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Maintenance) and students seeking a certificate only in the industrial maintenance field. The program provides hands-on skills training and e-learning opportunities in electrical, rotating machines, process control, fluid power and mechanical drives. HVAC and Modularized Stationary Engineering certificate curriculum have also been developed.
Sansagraw, who joined the college on April 1, said he’s enjoying his teaching experience so far.
“It’s been very satisfying, watching students grasp concepts that were just introduced to them, or watching them connect the dots to discover that what they thought they knew inside and out, might have another perspective,” he said.
Sansagraw holds an associate of science in electrical/electronics from Mineral Area College, a two-year certificate in electrical from UniTec Career Center, and a two-year certificate in HVAC from Ranken Technical College. He has also done work as a manager for the American Red Cross.
When he’s not teaching at MAC, Sansagraw enjoys fishing, spending time with family, and “reparing anything that’s broken.”
