MAC Students Compete at Annual Business Conference

  Members and advisers from Mineral Area College’s business leadership club participated in the 54thannual Missouri Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference, held in Columbia on March 22. Participating at the conference were students Jordon Harrison, Bonne Terre, Bradley Osborn, Bonne Terre, Jamie Abrams, Park Hills; adviser Roger McMillian; Dietra Barton, Farmington; adviser Melynda Barks; and Carolyn Graham, Ste. Genevieve.

Members and advisers from Mineral Area College’s business leadership club participated in the 54th annual Missouri Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference, held in Columbia on March 22.

The conference featured competitive events for individuals and teams, leadership training, workshops and election of officers for the next year. The conference theme was Missouri PBL – Igniting Innovation.

Participating at the conference were students Carolyn Graham, Ste. Genevieve; Bradley Osborn, Bonne Terre, Jordon Harrison, Bonne Terre, Dietra Barton, Farmington, Jamie Abrams, Park Hills; and advisers Melynda Barks and Roger McMillian.

Several students from MAC’s PBL chapter were recognized at the awards program.  Bradley Osborn took first place in the state in the “Help Desk” category and Jordon Harrison placed third in the state in “Hospitality Management.”  These students have now qualified to participate at the PBL National Conference to be held June 22-26 in Anaheim, Ca.

Phi Beta Lambda is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business, with more than 11,000 active members in the U.S.  Missouri has nearly 400 members in 22 chapters.
