Summer, Fall Registration at MAC Under Way
Even though spring has just begun, Mineral Area College is looking toward summer and fall semesters. MAC’s summer semester begins June 3, and registration began March 4. Fall semester begins Aug. 19, and registration opens April 8.
Dean of Students Jean Merrill-Doss said it’s important to register sooner, rather than waiting closer to term.
“We deliver education in a variety of ways—online, nights, weekends,” she said. “The sooner one registers and enrolls, the more choices are available to them.”
Schedules of MAC classes can be found at www.MineralArea.edu, or in printed form at any of the MAC outreach centers or main campus.
Registration continues through June 3 for summer and through Aug. 18 for fall. Students may enroll between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday. Students who would like to speak with an academic advisor should schedule an appointment to do so. Students who plan to enroll and who have not submitted an application for admission should contact the Admissions Office at 518-2228. A $15 application fee is required.
Previous Mineral Area College students who have been enrolled at least one semester since Fall 1981, and have no financial debt to the college, are eligible to register early provided all admission requirements have been met. Transfer students may register during this period, provided their admission papers have been received. These students will receive their registration information after their admission file has been processed. Students are encouraged to take advantage of online registration. Questions regarding registration should be directed to the Registrar’s Office, (573) 518-2119.
Students interested in attending classes at one of MAC’s outreach centers may contact the main campus in Park Hills or contact the appropriate outreach center coordinator: Farmington-Andrea Richardson at (573) 701-1310, ext. 2139; Fredericktown-Marcy Rehkop at (573) 783-7932; Perryville-Mary Bauwens at (573) 547-4143; Potosi-Judy East at (573) 438-3479 before 3 p.m. or (573) 438-2156 Ext. 26 after 5 p.m.; Tracy Crider-Winona at (573) 325-8101, Ext. 314.
Students who plan to enroll in English or math courses are required to undergo assessment testing. For a list of on- and off-campus testing dates call 518-2202 or 518-2188.
Arrangements for paying tuition and fees must be made at the time of registration, and arrangements for financial aid must be completed before registration. Questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Office, 518-2133.
Students can price and reserve their textbooks online at www.MineralArea.edu. Dates for textbook sales, including online order pickup, can be found there. The college’s schedule booklets are also online.
