Bill Burt to Teach Dog Obedience Class

 
Professional trainer Bill Burt offers a treat to one of his students.
Professional dog trainer Bill Burt will teach a dog obedience class at Mineral Area College on March 19 through the Continuing Education Department.  The seven-week meets on Tuesday nights from 6-7:30 p.m. and is open to dogs age 16 weeks and older who have current vaccinations.
 
Burt brings with him more than 50 years of experience, including training dogs for the Marine Corps, MGM Studios, and for the Roy Rogers’ television show where he trained two dogs to perform as “Bullet.”  Currently he is training service dogs and drug dogs for various law enforcement entities.  Burt and his wife also operate a kennel in Farmington and trains dogs for their new owners.  He also serves on the board of directors for NADOI (National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors) and does veterinary behavioral referral services.
