UMSL – Master of Science in Nursing Informational Meeting
Anyone who has considered completing a Master’s Degree in Nursing to become a Family Nurse Practitioner should plan to attend the University of Missouri -St. Louis’s Master of Science in Nursing informational meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Continuing Education Building on the Mineral Area College campus in Park Hills.
The MSN: Family Nurse Practitioner Option is for licensed RNs who have already earned a BSN or MSN from a nationally-accredited nursing program, and who would now like to pursue advanced nursing practice with an emphasis on family health care.
Graduate preparation is designed to provide advanced skill and knowledge in advanced practice roles in nursing. Upon completing the MSN program, graduates are eligible to become certified in an area of advanced practice, often as primary care providers. Post-MSN certificate emphasis areas prepare graduates to become certified in additional areas of practice. The FNP is an advanced practice role that provides direct patient care in a primary care setting.
Those who attend the informational meeting Nov. 27 will have an opportunity to meet the program coordinators, faculty, and academic advisors who can answer all questions about UMSL and College of Nursing graduate studies.
