Midnight Madness to Overtake MAC
(PARK HILLS) -- Free pizza, popcorn, volleyball, basketball and a chance to win free tuition for spring semester will be part of the evening’s fun during Mineral Area College’s annual Midnight Madness, which takes place beginning at 6 p.m., Oct. 10, in the Robert E. Sechrest Sr. Field House. The evening is sponsored by MAC Athletics and MAC Student Activities.
The evening is open to everyone. The volleyball game against Jefferson College begins at 6:30 p.m. After the game, the crowd will be introduced to the men’s and women’s basketball players, the cheerleaders, Kirby, and MAC’s new Redbird Revolution dance club.
Other activities set for the night include men’s and women’s basketball scrimmages, three-point and slam dunk competitions, including a shot for someone to win free tuition for the spring 2012 semester.
Chad Mills, the community college’s athletic director, said Midnight Madness “stirs up the passion for MAC sports.”
“It’s one of the most exciting and fun-filled events this college offers,” he said. “The high energy level in the field house adds to the games and activities of the night. It’s gratifying to see the team members and crowd get all fired up about the upcoming basketball season, especially the little kids who will become our next generation of Cards fans."
